What isn’t measured doesn’t change.
Welcome to the December 2024 edition of the WebCargo Digital Air Cargo (DAC) monthly report. Air cargo rates from China to N. America and Europe stayed elevated at about the $7.00/kg and $4.00/kg levels respectively in November, but did not spike on peak season demand despite expectations from earlier in the year as carriers added capacity and many shippers and forwarders frontloaded or secured capacity in advance.
In addition to launching an eBooking integration with e2open’s TMS in November, other developments at WebCargo included Air Canada Cargo adding eBooking capabilities from Argentina, Carousel Logistics opening prepaid Bookings for forwarders in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, Euro Cargo Aviation (ECA) representing Beijing Capital Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Norwegian, Tianjin Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways and Juneyao Airlines, launching services from the UK, EgyptAir, via GSA Skyline Services, opening from Belgium and the Netherlands, Etihad Cargo launching from Portugal, Norse Atlantic Airways adding routes from the US to France, Germany, Italy, Norway and the UK, Qantas Freight launching from South Africa, Qatar Airways Cargo launching seafood (PES) shipments from Norway, and World Cargo Airlines, via GSA SATSACO, opening eBookings from Singapore to Bangladesh and Malaysia.
